For something a bit different, and a nice change, members were treated to a fun quiz session at this meeting. Question ranged from Rotary trivia to difficult medical terms. Members were split into teams, who had to work together to come up with the correct answers. Read more

Mohamed Hanifah Salih spoke to us about Lip Trainer Patakara, a training device that can help improve certain medical conditions. Speaking from personal experience with his daughter, he shared with us how the device helped his child improve her medical condition. Read more

Meeting of 28 August 2008 – Refugees in Malaysia

Our speaker, Mr Amer Hamzah Arshad, a legal expert in the area of refugees, spoke to the club on the plight of refugees in Malaysia. Legitimate refugees are often unfairly perceived as economic migrants, when they are in fact in a situation where their lives are at stake. He argued that we have a responsibility to protect these refugees, as ensure that their basic rights as human beings are defended. Read more

Joint Meeting of 14 August 2008 – What to look for when buying Diamonds

We had a successful Joint Meeting with the Rotary Club of Damansara at the Royal Selangor Club on 14 August 2008. The meeting included a presentation to District Rotaract Representative Elect/Immediate Past President Amanda Lum of the Rotaract Club of Gombak. The speaker, PK Teh from Jewelex Marketing spoke on appreciating diamonds and what to look for when buying the precious stones. RC Damansara is in Group 6 together with RC Gombak, and is also the Club of our Assistant Governor, S Kulasegaran. Read more
