Club visit to RC Makati South, Manila, Philippines

The Rotary Club of Gombak sent a delegation to attend the Installation of President Pocholo and his Board of the Rotary Club of Makati South, our Sister Club. The trip took place on 6-9 September 2008. The Gombak nine-strong delegation was led by President Peter Pek. He was joined by Past President Lall Singh; Past President Vincent Ng and his Ann Patricia and daughter Jessica; Service Chair Shanti Clement; Membership Chair Aimee Liew; International Chair KL Chin; and Vocational Chair Lee Jia Ping. The Rotaract Club of Gombak held its 6th Installation of the President and Board of Directors for the Rotary Y ear 2008-2009 at COCA Restaurant, Subang Parade on a Saturday evening, 16 August 2008. This event was carried out successfully under the continuous support from our sponsoring club, Rotary Club of Gombak, various Rotaract Clubs from District 3300, members and organizing committee of RAC Gombak. The 39th Installation of the President & Board of Directors 2008-2009 of the Rotary Club of Gombak, took place at the Equatorial Hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday, 3 August 2008. The event was attended by numerous Rotary Club representatives from District 3300, as well as a contingent of around 30 visiting Rotarians from Gombak’s Sister Clubs - the Rotary Club of Tanglin, Singapore; Rotary Club of Makati South, the Philippines; and Rotary Club of Taipei Southwest, Taiwan. The Guest of Honour was the Hon. Youssouf Mohammad Oomar, Country Representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund - UNICEF. Read more

Gombak sends record delegation to Rotary Convention in Los Angeles

The Rotary Club of Gombak was well represented at the recent Rotary International Convention in Los Angeles, USA, which saw 17,000 Rotarians from around the world gather for the annual event. Gombak was represented by a club record of six delegates: DGN Leslie Salehuddin and Ann Ziela; President Ridzuan, Past Presidents Sen Gupta and James Emarievbe; and Club Bulletin Editor Douglas Brown. The Gombak delegation was the largest in District 3300, which was represented by 14 Rotarians and spouses in total. Read more
School Feeding Programme for Needy Children

For a number of years, the Rotary Club of Gombak ran a Feeding Programme which provided meals for needy students in our Interact schools. Many children have benefited from the programme, which provided much needed nutrition and nourishment. The programme originally ran in schools which had Interact clubs sponsored by the Club, but other schools were also included. Read more
The Power and Passion - A Festival of Cantonese Opera

In conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2007, the Rotary Club of Gombak presented The Power and Passion - A Festival of Cantonese Opera, at the Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (KLPAC). The show was performed by the Guangdong Cantonese Opera Academy First Troupe. Read more
