Gombak sends record delegation to Rotary Convention in Los Angeles

RI Convention Los AngelesThe Rotary Club of Gombak was well represented at the recent Rotary International Convention in Los Angeles, USA, which saw 17,000 Rotarians from around the world gather for the annual event. Gombak was represented by a club record of six delegates: DGN Leslie Salehuddin and Ann Ziela; President Ridzuan, Past Presidents Sen Gupta and James Emarievbe; and Club Bulletin Editor Douglas Brown. The Gombak delegation was the largest in District 3300, which was represented by 14 Rotarians and spouses in total. Read more

School Feeding Programme for Needy Children

Feeding ProgrammeFor a number of years, the Rotary Club of Gombak ran a Feeding Programme which provided meals for needy students in our Interact schools. Many children have benefited from the programme, which provided much needed nutrition and nourishment. The programme originally ran in schools which had Interact clubs sponsored by the Club, but other schools were also included. Read more

Free Eye Laser Treatment For Needy Cataract Sufferers

Cataract treatmentIn 2003, the Rotary Club of Gombak launched a new project that provided free eye laser treatment for needy cataract sufferers. The project, which was launched by the then Minister of Primary Industries, Dato’ Seri Dr Lim Keng Yaik, was a joint community service project with Eye Laser Correction Sdn Bhd and the Kelana Jaya Medical Centre. The project was the first of its kind in the region. Read more
