Group 6 Meet to Review Our Plans and Programmes
July 30, 2008
As we get closer to our 39th Installation Dinner, things are getting very hectic indeed, and there is a lot going on behind the scenes. Many of our members are involved in one way or another, not just working on the event, but also making arrangements for the large visiting contingent expected from our Sister Clubs from overseas.
On Saturday, 26 July 2008, I had the pleasure of being the Guest of Honour at the Interact Club of SMK Seri Ampang’s International Understanding Day. The ARBS boys put on a great event, despite some small setbacks. I must congratulate them for a job well done. [Full report here]
On Monday, 28 July, I attended a meeting for Group 6 Presidents in Kuala Lumpur. It was a review on what we have been up to and things that we need to address. It was a good meeting and gave us Presidents the chance to get to know each other better, and also to exchange notes. I am pleased to report that so far, we are on track and are doing well with our planned programmes.
On the subject of Group 6, we are, of course, having a Joint Meeting with the Rotary Club of Damansara (RCD) on Thursday, 14 August 2008. RCD also meets on a Thursday, but in the evening. Please do make a note in your diary of this change. We will not be meeting for lunch at the Corus Hotel.
For those not directly involved with our Installation preparation and activities, I highly encourage you to attend the District Membership & Development Seminar, which takes place on Sunday, 3 August 2008. It is a half-day event, so you have plenty of time to go home and get some rest, before attending our Installation the same evening.
Due to all the preparations that have to be made for the Installation, my message and thoughts for this week will be short and sweet. It just leaves me to wish you a good week ahead, and see you at this Thursday’s meeting, and also at the Installation.
