Interact Club of Seri Ampang’s International Understanding Day – Greece

The Interact Club of SMK Seri Ampang (Ampang Road Boys School) held their 11^th International Understanding (IU) Day on Saturday, 26 July 2008, at their school. With the focus on ancient Greece, considered the cradle of Western civilisation, the boys worked hard to produce a wonderful event that was interesting, educational and fun.

President Peter Pek was the Guest of Honour for the event, and he was joined by Teacher Advisors Puan Rajinder and Seri Rahayu; President William Kim from the Rotaract Club of Gombak, District Rotaract Representative Elect Amanda Lam and Community Service Director Rotaractor Calvin Khoo. Following a series of speeches, the IU Day was official opened by President Peter. There were a whole host of activities including the introduction of the new President and Board of Directors, video presentations, sketches, dances, and singing.

The programme was creatively hand-made, and the exhibition was an amazing maze that visitors had to go through completely in the dark! The videos were well made and were funny and entertaining. A lot of time and effort went into the planning, production and execution of the event.

Congratulations to both the outgoing team and the new Board. A special mention must go to President Lim Weng Kuan and Organising Chair Li Yin for all their hard work and dedication. Despite a set-back with a last minute change by the authorities on Saturday being a school going day, the Interactors pulled through and made the day a complete success. Good job Interact ARBS!
