Interact Leadership Training Seminar 2008

The Rotary Club of Gombak recently organised a successful Interact Leadership Training Seminar (ILTS) for the incoming Interact Presidents and their Officers for the Rotary Year 2008-2009. Hosted by SMK Seri Ampang on 28 June 2008, the event was well attended with over 60 participants representing the six Gombak Interact schools, Teacher Advisors, Rotaractors and Rotarians. The seminar also marked the last event to be officiated by President Ridzuan Yang as he ended his Presidency term.

The main purpose of ILTS is to train the new leaders in Interact as they prepare to take up leadership position and roles in their respective Clubs. All six Gombak Interact Schools participated:

1. SM Convent Sentul (President Soh Yi Wan)
2. SM Jalan Ipoh Girls’ School (President Pathma Gurusamy)
3. SMK (L) Methodist Sentul (President Bhaveshan Nadaraja)
4. SMK Puteri Ampang (President Chua Yi En)
5. SMK Seri Ampang (President Lim Weng Khuan)
6. SM Selayang Baru (President Sreedharan)

The organising Chairman of the event was Past President Wan Mokhtar, and the Co-Chairman was Past President Veiven Goon. Past President Chandran Nair presented an open session, and the following Rotarians presented workshop sessions during the training: President Elect Peter Pek (Presidents & Vice Presidents); President Elect Jeff Ho (Treasurers & Funding Directors); Hon. Secretary Joyce Lim (Secretaries); Rotarian KL Chin (Club Service); Rotarian Christopher Chin (Community Service); and Past President Wan Mokhtar (International Understanding).

In addition, Rotaractors from the Rotaract Club of Gombak also presented a session. Rotaractors that were present include incoming President William Kim, PE Calvin Khoo, Jacqueline Mak and Kristine Cheong.

At the end of the event the host provided a nice lunch for the participants.
