Rotary Zones

Rotary Zones

The Rotary world is divided into 34 Zones. Zones are grouping of Districts established by the Rotary International Bylaws and constituted by the Rotary International Board for the purpose of electing members of the nominating committee for the President, and for the nomination of directors. The grouping is also used for the appointment of task force members. The Rotary Club of Gombak is in District 3300, which is in Zone 6(B). It includes South India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei.

Each year, Governors and Past District Governors of Districts in each zone get together to discuss matters of mutual interest and to further enhance international understanding through fellowship.

The next level of administration is the District which can consist of between 40 to 80 clubs. The Rotary International Officer in the District is the District Governor. Clubs from Peninsular Malaysia except those in Melaka and Johor form District 3300. Clubs from Melaka, Johor, Sabah and Sarawak, together with Singapore and Brunei, form District 3310.
